Holiday home ABC
Allergies:
In houses where pets are not permitted we are unable to guarantee that there have never been pets inside the house.
Angling:
Anglers who have rented holiday homes from us may use the freezer at our offices free of charge. All those between the ages of 18 and 67 must buy a fishing permit if they wish to fish in the sea, fjord, rivers or lakes. Information on fishing permits can be obtained at tourist offices or the Post Office.
Bathrooms:
The bathrooms are often rather small. In most houses there are separate shower cubicles, or a shower curtain for the shower area. Very occasionally there is only a hand shower attached to a washbasin.
Beds:
Beds in holiday homes are often smaller than one is used to at home. For example double beds are often only 140 to 160cm wide, and are frequently sited against a wall so that access is from one side only. There may not be bedside tables or reading lamps in the bedrooms. Owners often have sheets over mattresses for reasons of hygiene and appearance. Please always use your own sheets on beds.
Bookings for next year:
After 1st March it is possible to make reservations for the following year, subject to the following conditions:
1.The holiday home has been made available for us to rent in the required period.
2.Prices and seasons will be those for the period of rental, and may not be the same as those published at the time of rental.
Cleaning:
Final cleaning of the house can be booked up to 4 days before departure. The price depends on the size and furnishings of the house. If you have booked a final cleaning please vacate the house by 9 a.m. at the latest. The house must be left in a tidy condition, washing-up, and cleaning of the oven and hobs is not included in the cleaning price. If you have had pets with you then all furniture and carpets must be thoroughly vacuumed of hairs before departure. For additional information please contact our office.
Cots, high chairs, bed linen and children's hand carts:
We have cots and high chairs available for collection at our offices, at no charge. Bed linen and children's trollys can be rented. Please book all items before arrival.
Furnishings:
All houses are privately owned. The holiday homes are furnished by their owners, and thus reflect their tastes and requirements. Therefore you must expect that, for example, kitchen equipment may not be as extensive as in a private house. For example, crockery may not all be from the same set.
Household equipment:
Many houses have washing machines, dishwashers, microwave ovens, TV, radio, stereo, deep freeze, tumble dryers, sauna, solarium etc., available for tenants' use. It is not always possible at weekends to remedy any defects with these items.
Items not provided:
Tenants must provide their own pillowcases and duvetcovers, towels, dishcloths, cleaning materials, and toilet paper.
Lost/forgotten items:
Items left in holiday homes will be kept for up to 4 weeks. If the tenant does not contact us within that period, then items will be disposed of (either with the ordinary rubbish, or to a charity shop). Shipping costs will be charged for the return of items.
Noise and dust nuisance:
Daily life in the holiday areas continues - also when you are on holiday! Therefore we cannot be held responsible for possible disturbance from building works etc. We do not have information on such things. If you are disturbed by noise from other holiday guests please speak to them directly, as we cannot be held responsible for this either. There may sometimes be farming smells in holiday areas.
Pets:
Dogs and cats are permitted only where this is shown in the rental certificate, and only if they are house trained. Pets must not be left alone in houses. Tenants are responsible for any possible damage caused by their pets. Please note that houses must be thoroughly cleaned of all animal hairs, at the end of your stay. This also applies even if you have booked final cleaning.
Plot/garden:
Unless otherwise stated in the individual description, houses are situated in natural areas, such as heath land, and dune areas, with high grass, fir trees and other wild plants. The 'gardens' are unlikely to have been levelled or cultivated and you should not expect that the whole area could be used for outdoor activities such as ball games.
Prices:
All prices are in Euro and per rental week. Utilities, such as electricity, telephone and oil are not included in the price but must be paid in cash on departure.
Satellite dish:
Most satellite dishes do not receive any pay channels, but only free (mainly German) channels.
Solarium:
Generally this means a single solarium mounted over a bed. Very occasionally there are double solariums.
Utilities:
Electricity, heating oil, and telephone usage is paid by the tenant. Electricity is charged at kr. 1.90 per Kwh. If the house has an oil-fired boiler this will have an inbuilt meter. Telephone usage is charged at kr. 1.50 per unit. Tenants must buy any required fuel for wood burning stoves themselves. Please note that energy/electricity usage can be high in the winter months. Pre warming of the house can be booked in advance.
